We are so proud to announce today that we have been shortlisted for the Conference Awards 2015 within the Best Conference Series category!
Our annual conference Hobsons U, with the associated client events throughout the year, help us to engage and listen to our clients. We have built a community and fostered a sense of belonging to a group that participants really feel the benefit of being involved in.
At this year’s Hobsons U conference, we wanted to have a dialogue with delegates, to ensure they know they are listened to, and that they also have an active role in shaping the services we provide for them. We hosted an illustrator to engage with delegates throughout the day. The results are fantastic. The illustrations reflect the conversations throughout the day, the sessions and debates, and the political themes of sector discussion in the run up to the general election.
What we have prided ourselves upon as our conference series has strengthened over the years is the feedback we receive on the content of our events. This year, our Hobsons University Conference kicked off with an excellent panel discussion, introduced by Emran Mian, Director of the Social Market Foundation, listed as one of the top 50 influential HE figures in 2015 according to WonkHe. The questions from the packed room of delegates and the feedback we received praised us on the benefits of having such an interesting discussion about the future of higher education in the run up to the 2015 general election, remaining up to date with the issues affecting our clients and how they can manoeuvre around the changes and transformations to the sector.
Delegates told us that they value the opportunities to network with other universities. It is the collaborative, energised atmosphere of our events and the physical gathering of higher education professionals where the true sense of the Hobsons community is truly felt.“The UK conferences continue to improve; this year’s was the best I have attended. There was enough (but not too much) time for networking; clients were keen to talk to one another as part of a community, and staff were both available and open to discussing specific system usage.” We organise our annual conference and the series of smaller events throughout the year to accompany and compliment this gathering of higher education professionals, we are empowering our clients and providing an environment which is not just beneficial to them, but also to their colleagues, their institutions, and their students.
The Conference Awards will be held in the Hurlingham Club on the 3rd July 2015 – we’re very excited!
